In Anchor Bay Village
Having grown up in the Gualala area I can safely say there aren’t a ton of options when it comes to venturing outside the standard fare culinary-wise. That’s definitely started to change in recent years and Anchor Bay Thai Kitchen is a prime example! This is great spot and a wonderful addition to the neighborhood! They’ve got an expansive Thai menu and of the 5 dishes we shared this past weekend (pad thai, fried rice, green curry, mixed veggies and tom yum soup) the flavors were all spot on. Truly. And I’ve had some very good and some very bad Thai food. Super fast takeout and super friendly staff. We called in our order and it was done by the time we made the drive from Sea Ranch. I’ll be going back every time I visit my folks!
As appetizers, the spring rolls were crisp and fresh, with lots of mint and basil and excellent dipping sauces. My hubby had a seafood dish with giant shrimp and I had the pumpkin curry. Both were just perfect, loaded with fresh cooked vegetables and savory sauces. We decided to split an interesting dessert made of bananas and cheesecake rolled up in a wrapper and deep fried, served with ice cream and a chocolate drizzle. It was delicious!
Thai is my favorite food and I’ve eaten lots of it. This was probably the best full Thai meal I ever had, with spectacular service to boot.
Since opening in Anchor Bay, I’ve eaten here a minimum of 10 times, happily bringing many guests along, some from as far away as Tokyo, and every visit has been pleasurable with excellent food. We’ve tried many different appetizers, dinners and drinks from the menu, and everything is excellent. It must be said that this is my wife’s and my favorite place to eat in the Gualala/Anchor Bay area. The food is always consistently top notch, and all the staff are the nicest, most beautiful people you could ever hope to deal with. They will be seeing a lot of us in the future, and it’s also worth mentioning, that when our guests from Japan are head over heels in love with this place, it confirms what we already know!

Our authentic recipes combined with the freshest possible ingredients make for a healthy and delightful dining experience. All stir-fry dishes are cooked using cholesterol-free rice bran oil, gluten free dishes are prepared with wheat free organic tamari say sauce, and the fried bananas are organic too!!
We try hard to source organic ingredients whenever possible. Local salmon and crab is used in our special entrees when possible as well as our locally made organic gelato and sorbettto by the well known Pazzo Marco Creamery. Other than Singha, all of our beer and wine are locally produced. From the delicious Navarro Pino Noir to the scrumptious Boont Amber we are sure to have something to please any palate. All of our Girasole wines are made using organic grapes. Our philosophy as eco-conscious owners we believe in sourcing when available local ingredients which results in good Karma, good for our community, and good for the world by creating a smaller carbon footprint. As we and our regular customers agree, fresh is best!
